How do I become a Member?

There are a fixed number of equity bonds that exist for the Club (320) and two ways to obtain one of these bonds:

  1. Purchase from an existing member:  Existing members with dues paid through 2023 can transfer their bond to a new member. Often these members looking to sell will advertise on Facebook or in the Oakhurst Oracle and you would negotiate the sale price privately. A bond transfer form and a $100 transfer processing fee payable by cash or check is required.
  2. Purchase from the Club:  Bonds can be purchased directly from the Club for $595 (which includes the $100 transfer fee). For a limited time, the club is offering direct sale bonds for the 2024 season for over $200 off when you purchase your bond and pay your annual dues and CIF fee all in one transaction. Please fill out the information form linked above for more information.

What comes with being a Member?

Members are responsible for annual dues that are used to cover the operating expenses of the Club as well as capital improvements that are needed. In exchange for these annual dues, you receive member benefits including pool access, free admission to events at pool/clubhouse, deeply reduced member clubhouse rental rates, and access to participate on the Oakhurst Orca Swim Team and/or Oakhurst Water Polo Team, for the full year. The club also has member only activities throughout the year including indoor winter bags league, weekly pre-school aged playgroup, member parties, and more!

Members are also responsible for an annual Capital Improvement Fund fee, if assessed, which is used to fund planned capital projects that are above and beyond the typical operating expenses of the Club.

How much are the annual member dues?

Annual dues are set in the Spring of each year by the Club Board based on the financial budget that is prepared. For 2024, the annual membership dues are $625. These dues are required on top of the onetime cost of purchasing a bond.

How much is the Capital Improvement Fund fee?

The Capital Improvement Fund (CIF) fee is set in the Spring of each year by the Club Board based on the financial budget that is prepared and scheduled capital improvement projects in the near future. Per the Club Bylaws, the CIF fee can range from a minimum of $0 to a maximum of $100 each year depending on the needs for that particular year. For the current yer the CIF fee is $100 and will be used to fund several improvement initiatives at the facility.

When do annual membership dues and the CIF fee need to be paid?

All annual fees must be paid online or postmarked by May 15th, 2024.

What happens if I pay after that date?

If you pay after May 15th, your account will be assessed a late fee of $25 which will need to be paid before you receive access to the pool for the summer. It is important to remember that although the pool does not open until Memorial Day weekend, the Club begins incurring pool related expenses in March as we begin the season opening process with our management company. Prompt payment of your dues is critical.

If I am not sure if I want to become a Member can I do a trial?

We do offer a Test the Waters trial membership which offers the same access as our equity bond Members for one year (May 16th We do offer a Test the Waters trial membership which offers the same access as our equity bond Members for one year (May 16th of current year to May 15th of the following year), however, this trial is only allowed one time per household and comes at a price premium since there are no strings attached.
